Why Buying Cheap Clothes Is The Worst Choice

For women, there’s no other greater joy in the world than shopping. In addition, if there’s a sale on nearby, that joy knows no bounds. Picking up a dress that looks expensive from the outside at just half its actual price – now that’s what you call intelligent shopping, isn’t it? And if you get two or three more such dresses, you’re set for the entire month. Your wardrobe is complete with cheap but rich-looking dresses, your pocket is happy, and your mind on the seventh heaven.

Well, before you celebrate having done intelligent shopping at the sale, we have some fun facts for you which might make you stop and think as to why buying cheap clothes is the worst choice.

1. Low on pocket at first; high on maintenance forever

Quality speaks for itself. Cheap clothes use very low or poor quality fabric which starts showing its true colours after the first few washes itself, sometimes even after just the first wash. The colours start fading off, the threads start pulling out, or the cloth shrinks beyond the acceptable limit, resulting in the dress becoming either tight or short for you and completely un-wearable after a while. Even if you do choose to keep them, you might have to spend more on their maintenance – getting alterations done, stitching the torn parts, or using chemicals to restore the colour and prevent further fading. This might be much more than the actual cost of the dress itself.

2. Bad for your image

You are what you wear. First impression is the last impression. These phrases all go on to prove that the type of clothes we wear speak a lot about our personality to others. As against high-quality branded dress, cheap clothes lack that perfect cut, symmetry, and most importantly, elegance to make you feel rich and good in what you are wearing. And because they are low-quality too, it starts reflecting in the fabric after a few days, all in all, making you feel that buying cheap clothes wasn’t a great idea after all.

3. Quality gone for a toss, you end up spending more

Fast fashion may seem to be the in-thing with almost everyone around following it, but it’s not a very healthy trend. It may seem at first that buying cheap clothes is a wise decision, since we can use and dump them every few months to try out newer and rapidly-changing fashions in the market.

However cool the idea might sound, the fact is that cheap-priced and cheap-quality clothes don’t last very long, with the result that you would actually have to spend a lot more money throughout the year in buying more clothes to replace the ones that you bought but had to discard owing to cheap quality. Now does that sound wise?

4. Bad for the environment

This is perhaps the most important argument against buying cheap clothes regularly and might prevent you from doing so. Now fast fashion might be popular but it can have some serious consequences for the environment, what with people across the world dumping tons of clothes every year in landfills to keep pace with the changing fashion.

The solution: make your shopping thoughtful and worthwhile. Buy clothes which might require a higher spend but are sure to benefit you in the long run with good quality and low-cost maintenance. And when you look good at the end of the day, you will literally thank your clothes!

Childhood Obesity: A Rising Problem

One of the most serious public health problems that one cannot ignore is obesity in children. Sadly, this grave issue also happens to be one of the most neglected issues in India. One needs to understand that obesity in children exposes them to a number of health issues. It also has a very serious socio-economic impact.

What Is Childhood Obesity?

This is a medical condition that affects children and teenagers. There will be excess storage of fat in the body. The weight and the height of the children should ideally change proportionately with the age of the child. But in the case of some children, the weight is found to be more as compared to the average weight based on a child’s height and age. If, appropriate steps are not taken then these children will become obese adults with chronic diseases. This will affect the personal development of the individual, it will affect his or her health adversely and the person will also have to bear huge healthcare costs.

Causes of Childhood Obesity:

Lifestyle is one of the main culprits. These children normally have a sedentary lifestyle which involves very little activity. The calorie intake through food and drinks is very high in these children. As compared to the intake the activity levels are very less. Sometimes obesity can also be due to hormonal and genetic issues.

A combination of a number of factors can make the child overweight. These factors include unhealthy diet like too much consumption of fast food, fried foods, sugary foods etc. The sedentary lifestyle of children that involves activities like watching TV or playing video games etc can also result in obesity. Genetic factors, socio-economic condition stress etc can also cause obesity in kids.

Health Risks Associated with Childhood Obesity:

Obesity will increase the health risks in overweight children. It can result in issues like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, it increases the risks of cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes. The child can also develop problems related to the lungs like asthma and other breathing problems. The child can also develop musculoskeletal and joint problems. The child can also experience gastro-oesophageal reflux that is heartburn. The child is also at risk of developing fatty liver disease. These children can grow up to become obese adults who can develop a number of health complications. These children are also found to have psychological problems like low self-esteem and lack of self-confidence.

Changes Suggested to Fight Childhood Obesity:

One of the most important changes that need to be made is a change in lifestyle. Children have to be encouraged to eat healthy foods. They must be encouraged to play more outdoor games. This will make them smarter and there will be also less chance of the child becoming obese. The overall outlook of the child needs to be changed. In the case of genetic or hormonal disorders, you will need a doctor’s advice. One of the best things is preventing the condition from occurring as prevention is always better than cure.

After Hair Transplant Care in Hair Restoration Surgery

With increasing levels of pollution, hard water, global climatic changes, and stress in everyday life, more and more cases of hair loss and baldness are being reported. Most people become victim to hair thinning or bald spots on the scalp in the prime of their youth. Thanks to the advancement of technology, these people don’t need to stay bald for the rest of their life. With surgical procedures, such as hair transplant treatment, you can restore your hair growth and say goodbye to feeling embarrassed or wearing hair wigs.

What exactly is hair transplant?

When a person suffers extreme hair loss, due to one or more of the reasons mentioned above, for a consistent period of time, they are likely to witness significant hair thinning or bald spots on the scalp in some cases. These bald areas can be effectively covered by undergoing a hair transplant, a small surgical procedure wherein hair follicles are transferred from the donor to the recipient, in order to regrow the desired number of hair on the latter’s scalp.

Types of hair transplant

There are two kinds of hair transplant procedures – FUE (Follicar Unit Extraction) and FUT (Follicar Unit Transaction). The FUE process removes the hair follicles and transplants them individually, while in FUT transplants, a strip of hair from the back of the head is removed and prepared for the transplant.

Things to consider before getting a hair transplant

Going for a hair transplant procedure is a big decision and there are some important things to know before you think of getting one.

  1. Hair transplant is not possible on a bald scalp. For the procedure to yield effective results, you need to have at least some hair on your scalp, to begin with. For instance, to take care of a receding hairline or hair thinning on top of the head, the hair transplant process takes hair from the back and sides of the scalp and transmits it to the thinning areas.
  1. Hair transplant is a permanent procedure. As such, you need to carefully weigh out all your options for hair restoration before choosing anyone. There is no going back on your decision and so you must make your choice of treatment wisely.
  1. Cost of hair transplants. It is undoubtedly an expensive procedure but the results in the long run definitely outweigh its cost. Considering that it’s a one-time investment for a permanent solution to all your hair problems, saving you from unnecessary expenditure on hair wigs and the like for several years.
  1. Choosing a good clinic is important. With so much competition among several hair clinics, all promising cost-effective best hair restoration treatments, it’s always better to do a thorough research on all the available options and choose a good and reliable clinic that can justify your money spent.

What happens during hair transplant treatment?

Like any other surgical procedure, some injury is bound to happen in the hair transplant treatment too. Therefore, your surgeon might advise you to take proper care of the treatment site on your scalp by following a few prescribed guidelines. These will help the treatment site to heal better and faster, and also facilitate hair restoration after the surgery.

How to care after hair transplant surgery?

You can continue with your daily activities, as usual, keeping in mind though a few precautions listed below which may help you get back on track faster.

  1. Keep your sleep posture upright. At least for the first night after the surgery, it’s important to sleep in the correct position to avoid pain. To make yourself more comfortable, you can use 3-4 pillows under your head.
  1. Wash your hair once the bandages have been removed. Your surgeon will usually take them off a day or two after the procedure. You can then choose to wash your hair.
  1. Take care of the stitches (if any). During some hair transplant treatments, you may need to undergo a few stitches. These can be easily removed after 7-10 days of the surgery. Make sure to regularly check if the stitches are healing properly. Your surgeon will properly instruct you on what to do if there are bruises or swelling of any kind. Consult your surgeon if the issue is serious.
  1. Only take prescribed medicines. If you experience throbbing pain or tightness of the scalp, you can take the medication prescribed by your surgeon. Never take any other medicines, such as blood thinners or aspirins, without consulting your doctor first. They are likely to delay healing.
  1. Avoid smoking and drinking. It is likely to interfere with the healing of the treatment site, making the process longer unnecessarily.
  1. Don’t over exert yourself. For at least three weeks after hair transplant, you should take particular care not to do any stressful work of any kind. It’s better to even avoid intercourse for at least 10 days.
  1. Make regular follow-up visits to your surgeon. It’s important to get routine checkups done after the hair transplant surgery. Your surgeon will check for improvement in hair growth, which might be visible after 4-5 months of the treatment.

With so much to take care of both before and after the treatment, hair transplant might seem like a tedious process at the outset, but rest assured, it’s all worth the effort at the end of it all. It can save you a lot of money that you might end up spending in the long run on fake hairpieces to cover those bald spots and avoid embarrassment. Moreover, hair transplants can really boost your self-confidence levels and make you feel good and happy about yourself. Now that’s something much more valuable than any amount of money or effort spent, isn’t it?

Why Non-Surgical Facelift and Neck Lift Can Be Your Choice?

As women are becoming more conscious about the way they look, which may be partly attributed to their growing presence on social media (Facebook, Instagram, and the like), the need to look younger than their actual age is on the rise. While surgical cosmetic procedures such as plastic surgery or liposuction have always been in the market, women these days are choosing to enhance their appearance without necessarily going under the knife. Non-surgical facelift and neck lift is what most women go in for today.

What is non-surgical facelift and neck lift?

The very first effects of ageing reflect on our skin, more so on the face and neck. Loose or hanging cheeks, double chin, wrinkles, etc., are some of the common signs of ageing. Now for someone who chooses to get a facelift or neck lift done without having to undergo the actual surgery, can choose from a number of non-surgical options – laser, ultrasound, and facial fillers – to name just a few.

How is non-surgical facelift and neck lift better?

The advantages are obvious. For starters, the patient does not need to get admitted to the hospital for the procedure. It can be performed at the doctor’s office only, making it very comfortable. Moreover, non-surgical procedures are minimally invasive, which means they don’t require large incisions unlike cosmetic surgeries. They are done quicker too in practically very little time, allowing you to resume your routine activities without much hassle.

How to get the best non-surgical facelift?

Ultherapy is the current best option on offer. This procedure activates the usual restoration process of the body, thereby lifting the skin as well as fixing the muscles in the face and neck area. Using this therapy, facelift without surgery can be effectively performed with the help of an instrument known as Ulthera, which sends ultrasonic waves to the deepest skin tissues, for achieving the desired results. The patient may start seeing a noticeable change in the skin after two or three months of the procedure and can continue to enjoy its results for as long as 5 years or even more.

What to do for getting a non-surgical neck lift?

Just as a non-surgical facelift helps lift and tighten the facial skin, making you look a decade younger, a neck lift can help tighten the loose skin hanging around the neck area, contract the double chin, and also help diminish other multiple effects of the ageing process on the skin. The non-surgical neck lift is also a fairly simple process which can be completed on the same day.

Non-ablative laser treatment is fairly popular for performing both non-surgical facelift and neck lift procedures. Along with correcting loose skin on these areas, it can also help treat skin pigmentation issues resulting from ageing. Similarly, the New Thermage laser treatment is an effective tool for performing likewise procedures. It neither uses the surgical instrument nor anesthesia, nor is therefore, a preferred choice by many for non-surgical facelifts and neck lifts.
